Why are my emails landing in spam/junk folders?
MyWaitlist has developed the ability for you to authorise MyWaitlist to send emails from your email domain (i.e. www.yourcentrename.com.au). To ensure system emails are coming from your own email domain, please configure your SMTP settings. See the article below: How to Configure SMTP Settings
Important Update: Due to Microsoft’s decision to permanently disable Basic Authentication for SMTP, services will no longer be able to send emails from your configured email address using Microsoft (Outlook/Office 365) credentials. Microsoft will be implementing these changes beginning March 1st, 2026, and completing April 30th, 2026. You can read Microsoft’s announcement for more information.
Other Helpful Tips to Improve Email Deliverability and Pass Spam Filters:
- Ensure your email templates do not include too many special characters and typographical errors. For example, words that are all capitalized, special characters, and emojis.
- Omit any gimmicky sales language from email templates, i.e., “Be sure to act quickly so that you don't miss out!”
- Ensure your email templates do not have any links to websites that are not secure.
- Ensure your email templates do not have any broken HTML code or images, especially in signatures. Be sure to use our placeholders instead of copying text from a Word document into your email template.
- Put a physical address in your centre profile signature, email templates, and bulk emails.
